New to Australia in 2021 are the Allett Stirlings, these multifunctional cylinder mowers offer an all in one approach without sacrificing the cut quality or weight of that other machines on the market. We offer this Ego powered machine with a 10ah battery which enbabled me to run the machine for close to 2 hours off a single charge which i found very impressive. The turbo charger recharged the battery back to full in under 40minutes also.
The cost of these machines is definately up there (north of 6k plus cartridges), but when you start to factor in the minimal long term running costs and maintenence, having mutiple machines at your finger tips through the cartridge system and the advantages of noise & start ups you start to make a compelling case.
Weighing in at approximately 60kg with battery and catcher fitted the machine does hold its own, it's definately not in the Mow Master or Toro weight category which could lead to the potential floating issues on the lawn, but with regular use of the scarifier cartridge this is quickly negated. If you're looking at purchasing this machine utilising the cartridge system is a must for me, the scarifier and 10 blade would be my personal go to followed by the verticutter. The brush would be a great addition for collecting stone, leaves and other debris prior to mowing along with brushing in top dressing or getting rid of those pesky worm castings.
What I also like about this machine is the HOC range 5mm-50mm for the cutting cartridge offers a huge range to the customer along with a 0mm to -10 mm to go sub zero for the cartridges. The mesh catcher does allow all air to be pushed through to minimise the 'cyclone' effect other catcher do have, i did find it does fill up quicker than other brands due to being shallower. The Mesh is an advantage to present dinting but it does cop some wear and tear and would need to be replaced over the years.
